Far From Perfect!!

Here is a home decor item I made using Lilac Avenue from KaiserCraft. Used the corner of a failed layout - well seriously unfinished because I wasn't happy with it. Just painted and glossed the letters, stuck on some flowers and stuck it to the background. The off the page was a double frame I just didn't use the frame section. Easy. It is not even close to perfect, the paper is a bit wrinkled because I stuck the letters to it before I stuck it to the backing board but never mind! Love this quote too!
Work at the Kaiser Outlet is going great! Really enjoying it, apart from the blisters my shoes are giving me! Ha ha. But they should be better soon. I spent my whole first pay check in one day though - oops!!!! We bought a Wii and I did a serious shop which exceeded the budget by 2.5 times! But we are stocked up on food for a while now!

And you want to know why?? I got a job working in their Geelong Outlet!!! I am so extremely excited! I start tomorrow and I cannot wait!

I have been missing for a while but not because I haven't been scrapping - just haven't been inspired to blog... I'll have to take photos of the rest of my sister's 21st scrapbook before I give it to her on the weekend so I should post those soon.

I also have another order for cards so I've got to make those soon too! Will have to purchase the new Utopia collection from Kaisercraft because I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Green purple and blue - what could be better????

This has to be my favourite collection from Basic Grey. I still have a heap but I just love it more and more every time I use it. I've used it here in my favourite layout for cards, it works time and time again. Just a busy background piece and two plainer pieces, some letter stickers and it's done! Never Fails!
Love these birds! These chipboard letters from Basic Grey are just fabulous - they never seem to end no matter how much you use them. Except I always run out of 'y's. Guess it's from happY birthdaY.

More pretty papers. And my fail safe colour combo - aqua, yellow and black! These letter stickers are such a fun font and they are glittery too! So me!!

I made this last card long ago but the rub on came off slightly and looked terrible but I finally got around to fixing it! Just cut another piece of aqua, stuck on the letter stickers, and mounted it over the original sentiment. Easy fixed!

If your new to card making you should try this design, you can't go wrong

I have been making a heap of cards lately for an order. An absolutely lovely lady who is a client of my Dad's who buys heaps of cards off me, lends me card making books for inspiration and has never even met me. How wonderful! Usually I have quite a few cards already in my stash that match my orders but this time I had none, so I've been going crazy thinking up new ideas. I like to make a mix of cards, which is difficult when you want to use your new favourite paper pad over and over. But I like to think I've done a fairly good job. I'll show you a few cards over the next few days but I thought I'd start with these...
35 thank you cards in the order so that's what most of these are. This first one uses an older paper range from Kaiser, one of their rubbons, and stickers from Sass Lass. I just love their little embelishment stickers, I buy every set even if I don't by any of the papers! The rubbon didn't come out perfectly so I've gone over it with a black fine liner. And I've used one button from the stash.

This is made with an old range by Basic Grey. Ambrosia, I ordered the collection pack and got a heap of stickers and papers free with it so I am still working my way through it!! I am recently loving these letter stickers again!

This butterfly is from Heidi Swapp and I have been wanting to get these butterflies for ages and ages but for whatever reason put it off because I thought I wouldn't use them. Well I ended up getting them on sale and have used abouut half of them so far. So was definately worth the purchase! I've used some Indian Summer papers by Basic Grey and this stamp is from heidi grace - a sentiment set - that is my absolute favourite!!

Here are some cards I made with the freebies in the Q3 magazine. I entered the card comp but had no luck. Am happy with the results anyway.
These chipboard letters by basic grey are just fabulous! Love them to bits - they are a bit pricey at about $14 but they go so far. They just keep going and going!
Have just finished making 25 thank you cards for an order and will hopefully post some of them soon. And have a couple of layouts to show too. Have just been too lazy to post... :(

Boot Camp - Layout 2

Here's some more layouts - I made this first one back in the New Year. It's about all the things I got up to in 2009. Looking back I actually did quite a bit. I've used one of the Kaiser Q2 ranges. Just love the die cuts!
I've also used glimmer mist for the 2009, was my first attempt at a layout using it and I'm quite impressed. Will have to play around a bit more to see what else I can come up with. Below you can see that the photo flips down to reveal some journalling. I think it's the first time I've done that too.

Here's another layout of my little sis. She was such a cute little baby. I found a book that details her first words, and what date she walked on and her favourite toys and the like, so I've used some of that information for the jounalling. Just love these nutmeg papers from cosmo cricket. Can't wait to get my hands on the CHA releases from cosmo - they look fantastic!

And lastly we have my second layout for boot camp. I've used one of the Kaiser saturday sketches and I quite like the result. Another layout of my sister, her and her mates. A great photo!!

Boot Camp - Layout 1

Here is my first layout for BootCamp! I took the sketch from day one and altered it to fit my photo. Just love these papers from my minds eye. A georgous valentines collection!! I've included the 3 requirements from out of the hat scrap challenge.
1. A four word title
2. Buttons and Bows
3. Include a butterfly somewhere

In other news I've recieved an order for 55 cards!!! So many - am going to have a blast making them. Will be a nice little pay packet to - it's going towards our wii that we are saving up for. Exciting!

3 x Layouts

Some layouts I've made recently for my sister's 21st album. I've finally worked out how to take photos squarely so I can show the layouts flat. But still need a bit better deffinition. This first green paper has a small dot pattern to it but it looks just like plain cardstock. Not sure if I can fix this or if I need a better camera.
Anyway, made this with the fun fair range by Kaisercraft. Love this range, it's my all time favourite from them!
This I made using October afternoon. Not sure if I like it but it's a bit of a change which is always good I guess.

Love this valentines range from my minds eye. So awesome and cute. I've done a non-love themed page, but is still cute enough for a cuddle layout!

Just need to add journalling to it.

Having a bit of a card making frenzy at the moment! Made 14 in two days - using a kaiser paper pad - haven't photographed any of those yet though.
These first two are some I madeusing the extras from the Kaiser Q3 mag. Loving this range, cannot wait until it comes out for real. Bring on March 1
This bottom one is one I made using the green house collection from K&Co. It was for the year in cards class over at twopeas. The challenge was to make a love themed card - I love these little hearts and apples - and I went with hugs for the sentiment cause I think it's more versatile as a sentiment.

Have been making some layouts too! My sister's 21st is fast approaching and I am super excited about her 21st scrapbook. Boot Camp is coming up at blue bazaar and I am thinking I'll have a go. The aim is to make 25 layouts between 8th Feb and 31st March. (EDIT)

A New Adventure

Here's a card I made for a friend of my mum's who's 50. Loving these papers!! I got them all for 50c each in a sale at BlueBazaar. So excited. I've used my brand new glimmer mist on the numbers... is so awesome!!! I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover this product. I'm loving it.
And on to other things...

I, like many others, have decided to undertake the challenge of project 365. I'm excited, but worried that I'll forget and get behind and it will fall in a big heap. But I think what I'll do is just scrap the photos for the days I take and then not worry about the days I miss. (Or not worry about the days when the photos come out completely horrible!) Instead of posting my photos everyday I'll probably do a weekly post with a collage of the photos - don't want to bore everyone out of their brain with photos of my life - ha ha.

New years resolution is to get sorted - so I've got to clean my house and it is scaring me!! Who would have now I had so much stuff??? But I'll get there in the end no doubt - maybe. :s

It appears that I haven't posted in ages but my excuse is I litterally haven't been home! I went to Darwin to visit my best friend, then spent time at my parent's house then my partner's parents house and then repeated both of those things! Lots and lots of visiting this time of year. So I haven't been home in almost a month!

I have been super lazy when it comes to posting lately. I think my main reason is that I haven't had pictures... and I guess I've been uninspired. But I'm going to get back on track for sure!! Have a few projects in the works that I'm super excited about so I'll post when those are ready. Until then I will have to show you some of the awesome things I've been looking at online.
First is this amazing artwork of one of the 7 deadly sins - SLOTH! Love it, and it fits in with the lazy theme from today's post.

Another digi layout using the fabulous Tag This range from Kaisercraft. Absolutely love these digi papers, so funky and cool. Played around with a few new effects to create this. Was fun to play around. If you haven't downloaded this range and had a play with it yet you should! Digi is so much fun!
In other news I had my market yesterday and it went ok. Sold 40 cards so was pretty happy with that! More than last time I think... but the funny thing was I only sold them to 3 customers! One wonderful lady bought 27 cards!! I couldn't believe it!!!!
Been making Xmas cards because Gran wants to buy some from me so I'm sending them down with Dad next weekend. Problem is I'm leaving dad's tomorrow morning and I sold all the Xmas cards I had previously made yesterday so I'm trying to make enough for Gran to have a nice selection to chooose from. I really hope she likes what I've created. But she's my Gran so I guess she'll love whatever I create :)

Here's a digi layout I did using the Friday Night Jive kit from Kaisercraft. How perfectly does this colour match my dress! Love taking ridiculous photos of myself - I'm sure you've seen too many. Had a job interview today - I'm not holding my breath but fingers crossed anyway.

Real Life Layouts

Finally some real life layouts!! I can barely believe it! But things just haven't been flowing very easily lately - maybe it's my lack of funds meaning I can't go and buy whatever I want and I've been using up my stash. Although I have been quite happy with what I've achieved with my bits and pieces. First is a layout for my sisters 21st album. I am glad I started this thing so long before her birthday because even though it is still months away I know it's going to be a close call getting it done in time. Plus I want it to be just perfect!!
This layout took me about 2 weeks to create. I just couldn't work out what I wanted to do with it. I had an original idea and it quickly transformed into something else, and then something else again. However I am extremely happy with the finished result despite it not even coming close to resembling the original idea. These lollipops were so fun to create. I've seen them around heaps and thought they were so cute but I just couldn't work out how to incorporate them into my style. So in the end I let them be the layout, take it over completely and I'm glad I did. It's so fun. I've used the pina colada and allsorts collections from Kaisercraft. So much fun.
I also have a layout I've made with more recent purchases. When I saw these papers I was so excited because they will be so great for so much! I have alot of photos from events that aren't theme specific so these are just perfect. And because I don't have kids in my life, it's all about my friends, so I love having papers and rubons etc that are friend themed.

This photo was actually inspired by these papers. The lavender colour makes me think of lavender. So obvious, I know. But when I was taking this photo of the neighbours lavender I started to think about what it means to me and as I did the layout I discovered a bit about myself. Very therapuetic. It's crazy how this all just fell into place but now I have a layout that shows a tiny fact about me that is so meaningful in so many ways. I'm so glad I was finally able to pump something out that has such a deeper meaning that just who, what, where, they are cool!!

I've been getting into a bit of art work and crocheting so that's why I haven't really posted much lately. But hopefull I'll have more to show you soon... maybe even a video...

Here's another layout using Kaisercraft's Friday Night Jive collection. Love this collection and having a heap of fun with digital. This layout was so easy, all elements (except the bottom bracket) were already on the paper so I just added the bracket, the photos, title and text. Easy peasy!!
In other news, my ABC or 123 photograph that I showed you in my last post, won the photography challenge at two peas. YAY!! I've won a credit for my next shop there... might have to get some hero arts stamps or maybe the fa la la slice card. Haven't been up to much else...

A new season... for me!

I am doing a course called Women @ Work through the YWCA and it's all about self improvement and the like. So what better time to make some changes in my life than with the change of the season, especially one that is all about growth and shining. Last month was all about cards so this month is going to be all about my journalling *fingers crossed*
Anyway here are some photos I've taken for some challenges over at two peas.
The inpriation for this first photograph was CIRCLES. I played around with the portrait setting and compositon when shooting these dots on the ground at the bus stop. LOL!

This photos is for the inpriation ABC or 123. I've taken a photo of my diary and pen which is very important to me and a big part of my 'seasonal change'.

Movie Monday

Today at 365 cards the challenge was to make a card inspired by the movie "pretty in pink"
Here's my card... I haven't actually seen the movie, (I was born in 86 so that's my excuse!!) so I could only use the posters for inspiration.

I cut out the letters using my slice machine. As you can see the first two words are white, the last pink just like the lettering on the poster. I really liked this lettering and was just going to base my card around this. However, when I needed some inspiration I had another look at the poster and thought that some birds in grey and grey and pink would be really cute! I stamped the images and coloured them in using a water colour brush. The ink bled a bit into the eyes so I stamped the eyes again and cut these out. I stuck these on using glue dots so the pop up a little. I also cut the owls out before I stuck them on - then drew the legs back on because they were too small and I cut them off...

Anyway, I think that's enough of an explanation. Hope your week got off to a good start!

Designing Cards

I've been following Kristina Werner's blog for a while now and noticed she has this funky book that she draws her card sketches in. On her blog she has a template you can down for the inside pages and you can make your very own. Check it out here. I made this one and had a heap of fun doing it.

I used my Slice for the letters and got this funky yellow paper from a mixed bag of papers I bought forever ago. I just love that scrap - it's so awesome!!! You probably can't see in the photo but the dark damask pattern is shinny metalic gold.

This is the inside... I'm so happy with my new design book!!!

365 Card Challenge - What a Ball!!

A card with a ball on it!! What a challenge that was for me. But am pretty happy with the final result anyway. I paper pieced the basket ball together and used letter stickers for the 'happy birthday!' The background orange and black have some ver sublte patterns to them that show up way better in real life but you get the idea.

Embossing Powder Power!!

The challenge at 365 cards today was a white space challenge. You could only put embelishments, patterned paper, sentiments etc in these two black lines.
Heres what I came up with. I had a heap of fun with this card, I haven't used any patterned paper for the first time in a very very very long time!! But am loving this aqua colour!!!

I used my brand new embossing ink and powder to do the sentiment. I've never used embossing powder before so it's been fun playing around with a brand new technique. Need to invest in a heat gun though, at the moment I've just been using my toaster. LOL!!!

Check Mate

The challenge today at 365 Cards was to use a checkerboard pattern on your card. Well if you follow my blog you'll see I just made a card with a checkerboard design the other day so I wanted to do something completely different. I thought and thought about what to do but ended up just going for it. I had a rough sketch in mind, then threw that idea out the window, however my card turned out to be my exact sketch in the end anyway.
I've just cut up random squares and pasted them on to the card in a messy fashion. I felt like they weren't really checkerboard pattern so I doodled around the 'black' ones. Then I pulled out some foam thickers for the sentiment. Hope you like!! :) Can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with for this challenge.

I am waiting impatiently for new products from CHA to arrive or be released!! I am so impatient! CHA is almost a big meanie for showing me new products that I can buy yet! Ahh! Anyway, here are some of my faves...

Who can go past Basic Grey? I know I cant!! I want to buy them all! But of couse because their ranges are so large I can never get through them all so I have to limit myself to only buying a few. This Nook and Pantry collection is just FABULOUS! I will admit that I don't have things food or kitchen related things to scrapbook about, but the range is so versatile I'll be able to use it for almost anything!!

Who isn't mad for cupcakes??? They are the best! They should almost be mandatory in a scrapper or cardmakers stash. And these ones from basic grey are just to die for. The oppositte side is also real cute so I'm gonna have to buy quite a few copies of this piece.

And these new fabric brads. YUMMY!! What more can I say??

365 Cards - Back to School

Childs Play

Finally, Finally, FINALLY!!! We have a layout on my blog. I've been going card crazy of late... Anyway, this is a layout I made for my sister's 21st album. It's not till next year but I wanted to get a good head start on making it because as I'm sure you all know it can take a fair while to make a whole album!
And this card I made using the same papers and letters from Kaiser's Childs Play collection. I entered it into their cardmaking competition, so fingers crossed!!

2 x sketch challenges

Some more sketch challenges!! This first on is for Mojo Monday - but I did it on a sunday... Guess it doesn't really matter... hopefully I have some mojo today because I only slept about 3 hours. WTF?? It's not like there's any reason for it, I just woke up in the middle of the night and ta-da!! I'm awake as anything...

This second one is for the sweetest thing sketch challenge. I had so much trouble with the elements on this page, the yellow stip and green scallop circle are pictured as one element in the sketch but I just couldn't get it to look right, so I made the circle an extra element. The birds are from one of the awesome cheap stamp sets I got from Target - I just water coloured them in.

Another sketch challenge! This time for the 365 cards blog. (There is a link to it over in the side bar.)
I've used the Basic Grey Lemonade papers for this card and the brad is from Kaisercraft - the girl baby range that I can't remember what it's called. This card is VERY different to the cards that I usually make but a change is always good!! Maybe I'll have another go at this sketch and see what else I can come up with!!!

CPS challenge 130

Here is this week's CPS sketch and my interpretation of it. I decided to turn the large sqaures into stars because I wanted a masculine card and didn't have any masculine stamps I could stamp and colour in... The reason for the masculine card?? I got my FIRST ORDER for cards!!! WHOO! How excited am I? (First order outside my immediate family that is) One of my Dad's clients has bought quite a few cards off me and has lent me a couple of cardmaking books too. She sent me an email yesterday saying that she'd just run out of my cards and wants me to make some more for her. 8 thankyou's and 4 plain!!! So the reason for the masculine thank you card is because she wants some of the thank you's to be for men! A long explanation, but here's the sketch and card...
I stamped the 'thank you' in white chalk ink, but it never comes out just right so I went over the top of it with a white gel pen. I think it's about time I invested in some embossing inks and powder. Well at least white!!! It would make my life a whole lot easier!! But messier too!
Mum came to visit me today! We went out for a coffee and that was nice. But the best thing about it was that I was inspired to clean the lounge kitchen and bathroom!! (there's still dishes to be done though - I'll get the boyfriend to do them!! lol)
Anyway, it's getting dark now so I might go turn some lights on and then get back to some card making.

The challenge at 365 cards today is to use letter stickers and a number. What better sentiment than 'Just 4 you.' I drew a sketch for this before I started but in the end it doesn't look even close to what I drew. I'm not that happy with this but sometimes that happens I guess.

How fantastic are these papers!! Just loving playing with them. Can't wait to get my hands on the new collections by Cosmo - the Boyfriend and Earth Love (I think that's what they're called!) I went to buy them at Anna's Craft cupboard and they were already sold out on some of the papers!!! Couldn't believe it, I will have to wait for Chandon to get them in or for the restocks!!!
Anyway, here's a card I made using these wonderful papers. I found this bit of lace/ribbon I've had lying around for ages and had no idea what to do with it. I thought I would never find anything to match it, but the colour is identical to the lines in this cardstock - looks different in the photo but I can't believe what a match they are in real life!! It looked terrible as a bow so I tried this technique I've seen on a few cards (often bulky or circle cards) where you tie a bit of tread around the ribbon at the end of the piece rather than tying it in a knot. And i think it turned out rather well.

That's about it from me for today - have the day off tomorrow so will hopefully get some crafty things done! And am on a serious budget so no spending money on scrapping supplies for AGES! I'm so dissapointed. :( But it will be good to use up some of the stuff I already own and make use of the tools I don't use very often. (Hopefully I won't run out of cardstock though - I'm sure I will!!!)

Something Sweet

It's cupcake craft challenge blog's 1 year anniversary and their challenge this week was to create 'Something Sweet' I tried to find a cupcake stamp somewhere in my collection but it turns out I don't have one! I really thought I had one somewhere - I did find this piece of cake though which was the closest I had. Is still sweet though.
I also thought that sweet would work well in the sentimenet 'have a SWEET birthday' I finally broke out my hippo stamp too! Love this, is so cute!!

Here's a card I made for the A year of Cards challenge over at Two Peas. The idea was to do a single layer card, so I made one using these awesome new stamps I bought at Target for only $6. Awsome. Then I completely wrecked it by making a new card on the back of it without realising that this was a finished card not just a blank one. WHOOPS!!! So I'll make this one again, it was easy so shouldn't be too much hassel.

I've shown this layout before but it has been featured in this month's Kaiser 'In the Know' newsletter. You can check it out here along with some other fantastic layouts and projects.

Here's a layout I made today for my sister's 21st scrapbook. I just love these papers. And so do alot of people if you've been looking at the online forums. I wanted to do something unique that I hadn't scrap lifted and I think I got there. It took me ages to cut out those leaves but I think in the end it was worth it. (just a note - this is just a dodgy copy of the photo that I'm acutally going to put there - I haven't got the good ones printed out yet because the printer is not being nice this weekend! That's why there is finger prints all over it)

It's my cousin's 21 party tonight so I made this card for him using some scraps I had left over from the offshore collection from Kaisercraft.
One of the weekly challenges at Two Peas this week was to 'create a shape'. So I created this wave, which I am really happy about because usually when I make waves they just don't turn out right. The theme for the party tonight is 'C' so I'm wearing a cocktail dress, my tiara (which I'm calling a crown) and my Chuck Taylor All Stars!! I'll look really silly but that's the point isn't it. Hope you're all having a fun weekend... is windy as ever at my parents house up in the trees. Feels so strange.

Couldn't sleep last night so what did I do?? Made yet another digital layout. Happy with this one.
Used the Kaiser Jingles collection for a non-christmas layout but I think it looks alright - not christmasy at all. Anyway, that's all from me for now

Digital Fun and Photo Shoot

Here's a digi layout I made using a mix of elements from all over. Had fun but it was hard to get it looking right. I find it so much harder than paper scrapping but I'm sure the more I play around the better I'll get.
Below are some of the photos I used in the layout. They are from my random photo shoot at the waterfront yesterday. This is my interpretation of the imagination/play/dream challenge. I found these cute little creatures and took a heap of photos of them. They are great models cause they don't complain!!!

This isn't the same self portrait as in the above layout but they are close enough. I take way too many photos of myself but I like to have new ones to put on facebook and things like that. I also thought this would be awesome with the water in the back ground and the sort of wind swept look. I get sick of smiling/partying/drunken self portraits that seem to always be taken of me and my friends so I thought this was a nice change.

I saw this tree just as I was heading back to find Andy and I just had to take a few snaps. There are about 5 or 6 pairs of shoes tied up in this tree. It's just near the skate park so no doubt that's where they all come from. I thought the funniest thing was that one of the pairs are a slide on style so they couldn't tie the laces together. But someone has still gone to the effort of putting holes in the elastic, finding a bit of string, and tying them together to get them up in the tree. Awesome!! (Not for the kids mum's though!!)

Finally, this is my interpretation of the WATER promt for my photography challenges. I've cropped it to make the white water the main focus but I think it's awesome. I took a heap of photos of these little waves hitting the stones at the water front. It was such a wintery day and was almost raining and was all grey but still so pretty. I am such a winter person- I just love it.

Butterflies

Had a bad sleep last night - if that's what you can even call it!! Mr. Sandman just wouldn't come... so I was up till all hours doing all sorts of things. Surfing mainly.
Today I went to target and got some awesome clear stamps by Cristna Re. They are so fabulous and so cheap!! Only 4 or 6dollars a set!! Fant-bloody-tastic!!! One of the sets came with the butterfly stamp I've used below. I stamped them all on different bits of coordinations cardstock then cut them out. It looks alot brighter in real life but you get the idea here.
Also went down to the waterfront campus today while Andy was doing a test, and took a heap of photos. Was fun but cold... so cold!!

A bit of a change

You have probably noticed that I changed my header to this one I made in wordle. I thought it was a bit of fun and would make a nice change from my previous header. Now I've got a few different elements for digital scrapping I will no doubt have a play around and create my own header at some point.
I've also changed a few things in my side bar. I've revised all my challenges because I forgot about them a bit and now alot of them aren't things I think I would want to do. So I've taken a few of them out, along with the ones I've completed and I'll start again with those challenges. I've also added some photography challenges that I want to have a go at so I can practice all the photography things I have learned lately.
I've also added a numbers section - mainly so I can keep track of what I'm doing. Also I think if I have some goals and I can see how far or close I am to achieving those goals I might be a bit more inspired to work towards them. I also want to start keeping track of the amount of cards and layouts I've made because I have no idea how many I have currenly made, maybe hundreds, but as alot of them were gifts I have no real way of knowing. So It'll be nice to keep track. How many layouts have you all done?? And in how long??
Apart from that not much else is new. I've been working on a layout in my scrap-journal. Has been fun but is hard to keep things flat (or at least semi-flat) cause otherwise I won't be able to close my journal. LOL

A card for a special someone

I saw Kristina Werner do a similar card to this over on her blog and I just LOVED it!! I knew that as soon as I got these papers I would have to make a similar one myself. My version is such an obvious copy, I usually like to just use people's designs as inspiration, but can you blame me?? Such a cute idea!!
Anyway, I made this for my Great Aunt, it's her birthday next week and I'm sure she'll love it. Well I hope she does!!! Workin on a layout for my sister's 21st album too but it's going very slowly cause I really have no idea what I want it too look like. Just the papers and embelishments I want to use. So who knows how long that will take me!?!?!?!

Fathers Day is on it's way

Mum wants me to bring her home a card for Pop for fathers day next weekend so I thought I'd better hop to it before I forget! On the two peas site Kristina Werner's Finally Friday videos now have a challenge attached. So I used her card for inspiration for mine. I've used some of my scraps for this card. They are left over from the photo box I made - I just adore these papers and I hadn't seen them as being masculine before but I think they go really well with the father's day theme.

Anyway, better head to bed, going to Melbourne tomorrow for dinner with friends. Hopefully I'll be able to practice some of the photography techniques I learned!!

Here's my first layout using the Lemonade range from Basic Grey. I just love all the bright funky papers. Since I've got them I've just been flicking through them over and over trying to decide what to do with them. I wanted to try and mix up the papers as much as possible so here I put in four blocks in different patterns. I think they are so cute!! The letters are from Cherry hill by October afternoon and I think they too are devine. I have this thing for bright and happy things - probably cause I'm not always that way myself. Anyway, hope you like.

Here's a digital layout I made for a challenge over at the Two Peas site. The challenge was ad inspired so I took the colours and the pattern from the three circle/ovals and pumped out this. Still getting there with the digital pages, but having fun trying out new things. My package arrived and I've been playing with a few bits and pieces, hopefully I'll be able to show you some of my new creations really soon.

Back again! This was a challenge from the Two Peas in a Bucket website. I'm having a heap of fun being part of the challenges over there. They have all sorts, scrapping and cards, digital scrapping and photography. This challenge was to use dimensional spots to raise the 'back ground' and leave the coloured bits of paper and photos behind. You can't see very well in this photo but the white actually has holes in it and the photos, patterned paper are stuck behind that.
It looks really good in real life, I had a heap of fun trying something completely new! I would have never ever thought to do this, but it was an awesome challenge. You should give it a go.

Oh, Baby!

It has been a while since I made a card but there was a challenge over at Two Peas In A Bucket. They have a heap of challenges and Kristina Werner runs a year in cards challenge. I just love her blog so I thought it was about time I had a go at one of her challenges. This month was baby cards and although there are absolutely no babies in my life or friends/families lives, meaning I have no babies to give cards too, I thought I'd have a crack at it. Mum's flower girl from her wedding just had a baby so I think this will be where this card is heading.
I got to use up a bit of my scrap stash too! I was lookin for some pink and discovered an 8x8 pad I bought when I was first starting out. It had some of the cutest papers so I just had to use them for this card. I have used about half the pad already, but there was still a heap of georgous bits and pieces left! I got to use my slice to cut out the letters! It is so much fun to use!!
Seeing as this was a Kristina Werner challenge I thought I would keep it in her style, but using ribbon, dimentional dots and faux stitching...

Christmas Angel

A new month a new attitude. I am going to try and keep up the blogging and posting more often. I'd like to say every day but that is highly unlikely seeing as things always get in the way and I never know what's going to be happen. But I'll have a go at posting more often.

I went to my photography course today and I learnt so so so much! I'm going to try and take more photos and practice, practice, practice!! I'll post some of my favourites here too so that'll mean more posts! Yay!

I also want to try and do more challenges. I follow a heap of challenge blogs but I haven't done any in months. So we'll give that a go. But before I do I post thought I'd a layout I made using a new digital kit from Kaisercraft. Is so cute!! I was their very first digital customer so I won a free mega kit. How awesome! I love being a winner...

Lazy Month!!

I looked at my post count for this month yesterday and realised I have barely posted anything! I guess it's a combination of me not making as many cards, going back to uni and me making off the page projects that take forever and aren't finished yet. Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things again next month.
Anyway, here is a project I did over the last 2 days about my goals for the next year. Some of them are just a bit of a laugh but some of them are more serious. I really want to read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It has always been one of those 'one day' things so I've put myself a time limit on it and by this time next year I'll be able to talk about how fabulous Mr. Darcy is with everyone else.
This layout was so much fun to create. Although while doing it I created an even bigger mess than usual!! But I had a go at a style I don't usually (using more than one company/collection) which I usually have alot of problems with. But I just went for it and it was so much fun. I loved putting a heap of my favourite things all onto the same layout! As you can see I cut out one of my fav butterflies from Basic grey...I just love this orange paper. It's from Kaisercraft's new Q1 range and it is such a fabulous colour!!! It really makes these thickers pop! :)

Here you get a closer look at my journalling strips. I doodled around them and was a bit worried about how it would turn out but I think it's ok. I always think my doodling isn't as good as everyone elses but I guess it's probably just that everyone is harsher on their own work. I did a heap of doodling on this layout - I wanted to do a bit more but I was worried about overdoing it so I just left it as is.

I also photographed another layout I did a couple of weeks ago that got lost in my boxes of paper - but the photos didn't turn out very well. I don't know why the above one did and that one didn't but I'll just have to try again another day. I'm taking a photography course on the weekend so hopefully there will be no more complaining from me about dodgy photos after that!!!

It was my little brothers Deb ball on the weekend. It was so much fun. It was fantastic to see Nic having such a great time, he looked so grown up.

I have to say though, the most fantastic thing was that in the encore, Nic and his partner did this amazing flip lift like what you see on so you think you can dance!!! It was truly amazing, I didn't know people could do things like that outside of the TV world.

Anyway, I got a heap of photos so I could finally have a go scrapbooking using this fantastic digital range from Kaisercraft. I'm looking forward to the 1st of August when they release their other digital ranges. How exciting. I'm halfway through another layout for '12 goals for the next 12 months' Am happy with how it's going so far... will hopefully post it tomorrow. Or maybe another digital layout.

Pennyroyale layouts...

This first layout is based on one of the sketches in the Kaisercraft magazine. I just loved the stips of patterned paper so I wanted to try and make them the focus on this layout.
I made these chipboard letters using Kaiser chipboard, then painted them brown, then stamped white ink onto them using the Pennyroyale stamp set. Then I coated them with dimentional magic to make them all shiny. I am so happy with the result.

I stamped the border stamp at random places around the edge and then doodled in between for a unique look.

This second layout I wanted to keep really simple because of the intricate background.

Here's my journalling and some details of the letters and brads. They are so cute.

Summer Chanllenge!

I went to the Kaisercraft outlet yesterday and spent up big. Their new things are just fantastic - I've been thinking about which collections and what products to get for ages and ages, I've flipped through the magazine time and time again dreaming of which collections I would love to get and what's going to work best with my photos. Well I got some offshore and pennyroyale and after playing with them last night I swear I'm going to have to go and get the rest!! Talk about fun!!

I also got some good use out of my fabulous new slice machine!! Cut some circles, scalloped circles, the brackets and 03 for this layout. I am going to be using my slice ALOT!! It's fantastic!!

Anyway, this is my entry into the summer layouts competition at Kaisercraft. I'm not really a beachy person but these papers went great with what my friends are wearing on a summers day down the park. (I used my slice to cut the photo into a circle too!!!)

You should all visit Kasier and give this challenge a go!! Everyone has some summer photos somewhere! I also attempted the saturday sketch this week using this sketch. I added a heap more circles and moved the title but the basic idea is there... Anyway, hope you all had a fabulous weekend!!

Digi Layout

I have been playing around with scrapping layouts for a while but I couldn't get anything to work the way I wanted to. I have finally finished my first digital layout. It was so much fun getting back into the swing of photoshop. I spent almost my whole year 12 on photoshop working on my multimedia and graphics folios. It took me ages to work through how to do this and that, but I'm sure the more layouts I do the easier it will become.

I have been working on some off the page projects but I don't want to post them until they are all completed. I have also done a few traditional layouts, but have to photograph them. I have been so sick lately it's ridiculous! Three weeks of holidays and I've been sick three times! Fun holidays or what!!

saw Transformers - was entertaining but didn't have a good plot to action ration - I swear we were half an hour into the movie before any of the characters said anything more than 'oh no!' or 'shit!'
discovered some basic grey letter stickers from the bitter sweet collection match the red in the new Kaisercraft Liore Valley range PERFECTLY!

Self-portrait

Here's a page I did in my art/scrapbooking journal. Loving this paint - it's sea breeze by kaiser and I just want to paint everything with it!! My dad's favourite colour too - that's probably why I like it. I pulled the fuzzy bit off a cotton tip to pint the dots in white - I like the funky smudgy look they made. The die cuts are from making memories just chillin girl range. These are so bright and funky. I bought the die cuts for cards originally but they look really good gathered together. The lettering is from K&Co and has been in my stash for ages.

Love Love LOVIN the new kaiser range! Q1 - so fabulous!! If I could afford it I would buy it all but of course I have to rashion my money so am putting off going to the scrapbooking store for a few more days...
Will be postin some pics sometime soon but hopeless me can't get my sh*t together and be on a computer that works, with internet that works, with my memory chip not hiding in the depths of my still not unpacked overnight bag. There's always something holding me back.
I'm feeling good bout life at the moment though - have been looking up quotes in books and on the web and am just lovin it. I've started writing them all down in a journal for keeps so I can look at them all when I feel like being inspired!!

Card City

I have been going card crazy!! I have made 14 cards tonight!! The secret?? Designing a card and making at least three of that design. Usually I've changed the sentiment for each one but depends. This is one I made. I had these stickers by Sassafrass Lass and I have been eyeing off their latest bits like these with buttons and stuff. But I wasn't impressed by the price, so I decided to make my own using some of their stickers. Then I made another 3 using papers I cut out. So much cheaper and maybe they aren't as perfect as the ones you buy, but I reckon they are just as good.

Disaster!! My stupid stupid house! We're renting a flat and it gets the worst condensation in the second bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom I can understand because there is no ventilation above the shower but it is pretty bad. But I do not understand why it is so bad in the second bed room. Andy says it's cause that room gets no sun. Anyway, so the second room is where I keep all my scrapping supplies, and I had a layout standing in my making memories storage system and all the papers went rippley, like when it gets wet. I was pissed. But I tried not to get too upset about it, cause I am sure I can fix it. BUT then today I went into the room and a worse thing is ruined. For Xmas I got this gorgeous water colour of my name from my bf's parents. Dad got it framed for me and we've had it in the house for about 2 or 3 weeks. Well it's bloody ruined!! I am so angry. It's gone all rippley and isn't flat in the georgous framing matt. Pissed off!! Is so annoying, I don't know what to do about it. I feel so bad too cause Dad paid to have it framed for me just cause he loves me...

So I've decided that we are moving! I've been sick of this house for ages... and it's too far from uni so it's time to get out of here... Although moving is a pain in the butt... But we are checking out a three bedroom tomorrow that's the same price as where we are at the moment. THREE bedrooms and TWO bathrooms!! How awesome! We'll see how it is, must be something wrong with it if it's so cheap. But I hate being pessimistic. I'm just so sad about this house at the moment. It is going to take days to clean all the mould that's built up and we haven't even been here a year yet!

Enough of my babbling though... hopefully there'll be better things to talk about tomorrow.

Going to the movies with my darling Andy tomorrow. We go all the time but I just love spending time with him out of the house.

Going to Darwin to visit Gem!! I put away most of the money Mr. Rudd gave me for the stimulus package so I could make it up there! Can't wait!
My Gran's Birthday- We're having a big family lunch on Sunday and I can't wait to show Gran and my Auntie Karen all my scrapping work cause they haven't seen it yet!
Selling Cards - I almost have enough to make a stall for Belmont market. Might have to wait till the weather is a bit nicer though.
Going back to uni - To finish my law degree! So glad to be getting back on top of that but it will mean I'll have way less time to scrap. :(
My Birthday - it's still a month away yet, but it's my fav day of the year.
Getting a Slice - It's a long way off but I have decided to save for one. I am the worst saver of money in the whole world so it could be years before I get it. But I'm looking forward to the challenge!! ha ha

I got these really cute packet of die cut shapes from create paper. They are so cute and I just adore them. However I came across this curious sentiment 'perfect harmony'. What am earth am I supposed to use that for?? It is just so adorable but even in scrapbooking I don't know what it's good for. I guess it could be used for anniversary or engagement/wedding meaning the couple are perfect together maybe... I don't know. Anyway I made a card out of it and I like the look if nothing else.

During a break in the rain today I headed outside and took photos of my double page layout. I am so happy with how it turned out. Not only is it double page but I used a massive 6 photos!!! I am hopeless with multiple photos so it was great to be able to achieve that here.

I've used the airy fairy papers by Kaisercraft. I have only used the back of the papers though, which means no fairies. I don't have any use for fairies, but I love the patterns on the back, especially the dark blue one. They are so detailed, the pale purple with polka dots on it actually have a few sparkles along one of the sides to emphasise the fair theme. So amazing!! I love the details of the kaiser papers...

The butterflies took me forever to do. They are very subtle on the paper so when I cut them out you couldn't see them very well. So I went over the pattern and coloured them in using a matching fine liner. And I've done my first real stiching too!

I'm a happy little vegemite today!!

As you may or may not have noticed I have been missing in action this last week or so. Well it has been a combination of things, mostly because I have been sick. Luckily not swine flu though! Was feeling way better last night but then slept ALL day (and I mean all day cause I didn't get up till 8.30 tonight!)

Anyway, I'm sure you don't want to hear about that... I have been working on a project or two. I've made quite a few cards using glitter dye cuts - the info is in my last post if your interested - but they have not been photographing very well so I haven't bothered to put them up here. I think it's cause of the glitter. I might have another go when the weather gets a bit better and I can get some good light.

I did get a heap of Kaisercraft papers at really cheap prices from scrap and craft with T which are fantastic. I did a double page layout with the back of the airy fairy range. I was not at all a fan of the front sides, but the backs are awesome! I especially love the dark blue page! I haven't had a chance to photograph that yet so I will eventually.

I was workin on a second layout with the Everblooming range when tragedy struck. (Well, scrapbooking tragedy struck...) I didn't have any photos to scrap! Can you believe it??? I looked through my hundreds of printed photos but I couldn't find any that went with the project I was doing. I have NEVER had this problem before!! I have a tonne of photos all printed out ready to scrap, well at least I did. But I've been scrapping a heap more than I have been doing anything else lately so I haven't got that many new photos. What a disaster - makes me sound like I have no life!! ha ha. I guess I've just been keeping up with scrapping so well that I've caught up! Ha. I can't say I've heard that complaint very often... I'll have to head home to Mum and Dad's and finally get some copies made of the photos of us kids growing up. Seeing as at the moment all that's going on in my life is study which is quite a boring photo... ha ha

Some scraps

It was pay day today! Yay! So I headed straight to Chandon Craft. Surprise surprise. My mission was to buy embelishments and I succeeded - in a way. I got some dye cuts from create paper that are so cute. I made these two cards with them. You can also see the wonderful mess of a work space I have! I've overtaken the coffee table because my scrap room to so freezing I'll proably get hypothermia in there!

I also got some cute chipboard birds too. Along with some papers and inks and georgous imaginisce panda and hippo stamps. Just lovin them!!

In other news I am going to see WICKED tomorrow! So excited!! My darling boyfriend got me the ticket for Valentines day and I finally booked in a couple of weeks ago! I'm in the forth row! I know it is going to be fantastic and I am so pumped about it! YAY! Then on thurs I'm heading to another scrapping class at chandon.

Sweetest Thing Sketch Challenge #19

Another sketch challenge using sweets papers. This time using the sketch from The Sweetest Thing Blog. I really liked this sketch, very different from what I've done before. I changed the flowers for hearts because that's what I had out and also my flowers are all a tad big for this sketch - keeping it portrait of course. Maybe I'll have another go later using flowers instead.

I accidentally stamped the sentiment in purple instead of red (the shade of purple I have is only one shade off my red) so then I decided to do the faux stiching in purple too but I think it all went a bit blah in the end. It was starting to look a bit Kwerner-design-ish before that point. I'll have to have another attempt and see if I can make it look any better. Oh well, it's still cute!!

If you haven't been there yet head to Kwerner design. Kristina is one tallented lady and her videos are great - I'm always hanging out for mondays or fridays when they come out. I've learnt so much!!

365 Cards - Day 85 - Super Sketch Sunday

Here is my attempt at 365 cards super sketch sunday. I got out some of my sweets paper scraps that I've had stashed away for a few months. I just love these colours and the hearts... so cute. And this best friends scallop is from a bit of bargain paper I got forever ago. It got a heap of sentiments all over it which are really cute for cards.

Went to the inner peace festival in Hamlyn Heights today. I couldn't believe how busy it was. I was hoping there would be a buddhism stall there but there wasn't. I did get some of the buddhist flags that I've been looking for, for ages. I've got them hanging over the door to our ''hallway'' if you can call it that!

It feels like I haven't actually done any scrapping in ages! Well I sat down tonight and pulled out some of the papers that have been sitting in a pizza box for months. I just played around for a while and this is waht I came up with. Nothing that fantastic but at least I've got something done. Have been doing a few cards too - but haven't photographed any so that's why the blog has been a little bit quiet lately...

Stamp Something Challenge - Simple ThankYou

If you can't tell I've gone Challenge Crazy. It's Challenge Madness!!! This one was for the Stamp Something Blog. This week the challenge was to make a simple thank you card. I brushed my ink pad over a white paper flower to get the striped effect, then just added a button to the center. I stamped the sentiments onto white cardstock then punched them out. Luckily the punch is just big enough to fit the sentiments inside. Then I simply stuck down the papers and drew white faux stitching around the edge. Ta Da! Hope you enjoyed...

365 Cards Day 79 - Use your favourite manufacturer

Today over at the 365 Cards challenge blog, the challenge for today was to use your favourite manufacturers products for majority of your card. Well it's probably no surprise to you all that I love, love, love Kaisercraft. Seeing as I already had my 'What a hoot' papers out decided to use these.

I also love Kelly Panacci clear stamps so I stamped this happy day. And I also have a thing for fiscars punches - so I used a circle, a scallop circle and border punch. All my faves together!!

CPS116 - You're a Hoot

I made this card for CPS116. You can't really tell but the owl is popped off the page with dimensional tape. I used the what a hoot paper range from Kaisercraft, then stamped the sentiment from a Kelly Panacci clear stamp set. The pearls are Kaisercraft too...

Went to the footy today to see my Saints play - with 3 Essendon supporters. It was a great game... I wasn't sure we were going to win there for a minute. But we did cause we're great! We had great tix, first level only 5 rows back just left of the Saints bench so all my boys kept walking past us when they were resting... was AWESOME!!!

I went and saw Star Trek the other day and it was awesome. I have never watched any of the star treks before but this movie had me totally sucked in! I am a Trekkie now - well if all the others are even half as cool as the movie! Star wars is nothing in comparison to Star Trek. I'm sure I'll get into alot of trouble for saying that but deffiantely waaaay cooler!! Anyway, my little quote relates to that... It made me giggle...

CardPatterns Sketch #14

Just a quick post before my laptop runs out of battery... made this card for the card patterns blog. Was a very challenging sketch but I am fairly happy with my finished product. It is hard to see all the details in a photo but it has come up alright. You can kind of see the pattern that is in the grey paper, it's very subtle, but I've made it follow from block to block...

Post 100!!

Well I've finally made it to my 100th post. How exciting. It took suprisingly longer than I thought it did - but I guess seeing as there are an average of one project per post, I guess that's quite alot really. Hope you're not all bored of me yet.

I made this card for the 365 Card Challenge blog. It's day 76 and the challenge was to only use embelishments in the corners - so I used these rhinestone flowers... adds a cute bit of colour to the black and white...

Went to the Kaisercraft outlet this morning and managed to stay under my $50 budget. I didn't think that was possible but sure enough I did it! I bought 4 paper ranges and some embelishments... was fun - but I made it a short trip as I could have spent hours in there picking more and more stuff...

And I can't believe it - I am at the end of my white cardstock stash. I bought a hundred pack not all that long ago and I've been using it to make cards along with pages and just for stamping... it's so versatile... but I am to the end of my packet already!! I am in shock. I thought it would last me ages and ages but no... it's already finished. I'll have to buy some more either this evening or tomorrow so I can make cards all weekend... Except on Sunday when I'm heading to the footy with my bf to see St. Kilda v. Essendon and I plan to be singing alot of the Saints them... ha ha... my bf goes for Essendon so lets hope we smash em!! (I'm not really that mean though so I actually hope it's a good game...)

Anyway, enough of my blah blah-ing for now, I want to make some cards before I head out again... and it would be good to have something to say in some of my other posts... hopefully something interesting at least...

Fun Fair Obsession...

Here's my hand written sentiment. I often hand write the sentiment but lately I've been mixing it up with stamps and stickers to empasise certain parts of the sentiment... I kinda did that here too with the 2... but the happy birthday is handwritten, so it's my entry into the 365 cards challenge for day 74. The challenge being - hand write your sentiment. Not much of a challenge for me but I know alot of people struggle with using their own handwriting because they don't like it. I personally think it give a nice home made feeling... and who wants cards that are too 'store bought/production line' looking anyway?? I know I don't!! Can't wait to see what everyone has come up with...

I'm heading to the Kaiser outlet today to buy some different papers so hopefully I'll be able to post some cards that aren't made using the fun fair range. But I'll probably post some that are made with Fun Fair too! I've made a tonne and they are so cute so you'll have to suffer looking at them for a teeny bit longer...

Just threw this card together based on the lastest sketch from Sketches! {by tamara} It was really cute, loved the flowers, but I have been on a role with these Kaiser papers and only had a few scraps left that fitted this sketch perfectly so here we are...

Another thing about me - I love a good pun! I find them hilarious even though I know they can be seriously lame at times... so that's why I went with the sssspecial day...

Here's another one. This was a heap of fun, I enjoyed going with a whimsical kind of look, the rough looking outlines and patterns are so easy and look real good. Will have to use these more often!

Am into Breaking Dawn - the 4th Twilight book and it is so fantastic! Loving all the twists and turns! I was telling my bf all about what had happened and he asked how far I was through the book. Well I wasn't very far at all, he couldn't believe how much had happened and how many exciting turns had occured only a few chapters in. Loving it loving it!!

Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid all together.

Really liked this one as it was easy, I think I'll be able to make quite a few cards based on this sketch. I've been blog hopping alot lately and I've found a heap of really cool card challenge sites! So I've been attempting some of them! They are so much fun. This was from the sketch over at Taylored Expressions for their cupcake challenge. I just love this monkey! He's from Kaisercraft's Fun Fair range. I love these papers - cannot get enough of them. Last time I made cards with these papers I sold ALL of them! Seeing as I'm planning on selling cards on the long weekend I thought this was a great place to start. I made 15 cards last night. Yes! 15... I couldn't believe it! But I did really put my head down to see how many I could come up with - and I'm pretty happy with them. But I used a whole sheet of dimentional dots!! Bought more today...

365 Cards - Day 71 - Sunday Sketch

Here is a card I made - also only using pens, inks and stamps. It is based on the sunday sketch at 365 cards blog. Had fun playing around with inks to see what different effects I could get. Can't wait to get back to G-town and get into some serious card making!!

Am hoping to sell cards in Belmont on the Sunday of the long weekend - but don't know if I'll be able to make enough in time. Mum just sold a heap to people at work so I am Waaaay down in numbers! We'll see...
